The City of Coral Springs marks half century of progress… with an entire year of special events!
What started out as acres and acres of bean fields, then cattle pastures, has become the nation’s premier community in which to live, work and raise a family in five short decades. Incorporated by the State of Florida on July 10, 1963, Coral Springs has experienced 50 years of growth and accomplishments.
The 50th Anniversary, or Semi-Centennial as it is called, will have nothing “semi” about it. It’s a full year of events, activities and opportunities for exposure designed to honor the achievements of yesterday, highlight the accomplishments of today and look forward to an even brighter tomorrow!
The Anniversary Year kicks off with the 2012 Holiday Parade and continues in high gear through tie-ins with Coral Springs’ major seasonal festivals, business and social activities. A wide spectrum of organizations will present dozens of sanctioned anniversary events throughout the City. Educational activities in schools and libraries and a Speakers’ Bureau in community centers will teach us much about our fascinating history and rich heritage.
The City of Coral Springs invites all schools, organizations and non-profit groups to register your events as Community Connections to help us celebrate this significant milestone! Visit the Getting Involved section to send us your information.
